Visitor Experience Assistant (4 posts) – Ref: WA146

Westminster Abbey is seeking to recruit four full time Visitor Experience Assistants to assist in meeting and greeting visitors, in a positive, engaging manner, ensuring a warm Abbey welcome is offered at all times.

Full time, fixed term until end Sep 2022 (35 hours)

Salary: £20,786.32 per annum

You will be responsible for offering media guides to visitors, and helping to collect them at the end of their visit. You will also ensure that media guides are not removed from the Abbey and that they are cleaned and charged appropriately, checked for troubleshooting and ready for the start of each day.

This is a frontline, customer focused role that will require you to provide excellent customer service within a busy, often demanding setting.

Visiting Teacher (Bassoon) – Ref: WA147

We seek to appoint a Visiting Teacher of Music to commence in September 2022, teaching the Bassoon at Westminster Abbey Choir School.

We seek to appoint a casual Visiting Teacher of Music, teaching the Bassoon at Westminster Abbey Choir School. You will be an outstanding Bassoon Teacher, who is able to inspire and develop our musicians at the internationally renowned Westminster Abbey Choir School. The successful candidate will deliver individual lessons to pupils aged 8 to 13. You will need to be committed to the ethos of a small choir school and it is important that you appreciate the very considerable demands made upon the choristers in your charge.

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Abbey Marshal (7 posts) - Ref: WA144

Westminster Abbey is looking to appoint seven full time Abbey Marshals. Working within the Visitor Experience Team, you will be helping to provide a warm welcome and engaging visitor services to all worshippers and visitors to the Abbey.

Permanent Full Time (40 hours per week)

Salary: £27,565.32

Ref: WA144

You will have a positive approach, with evidence of a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and of anticipating and responding to customer needs. You should also be able to work effectively under pressure and to take and follow instructions.

Your contracted hours will be worked on a five-day rota basis that incorporates weekend and bank holiday working.

Facilities Attendant - Ref: WA125

Westminster Abbey is seeking to recruit a Facilities Attendant to keep the Abbey and precincts clean, and to set up and clear seating for services and special events within the Abbey and precincts.

Full Time (40 hours) 

Salary: £23,884 per annum

The role also involves porter-type work within the Abbey precincts, and working as part of the Visitor Experience team, to promote outstanding, engaging visitor services as part of our welcome to all worshippers and visitors to the Abbey.

The successful post holder must have knowledge of cleaning techniques and products whilst also being able to work effectively as part of a team and on their own.
