While congregation sizes are restricted during the coronavirus pandemic, we are streaming selected services from the Abbey for worshippers to join in from home.

About the service

The music will be sung by the Choir of Westminster Abbey and will feature:

  • Clucas: Keep me as the apple of an eye
  • Ayleward: Responses
  • Howells: Collegium Regale
  • Stainer: I saw the Lord Widor Intermezzo (Symphonie VI)

The preacher will be the Venerable Tricia Hillas Canon in Residence.

Watching the service

The coverage of Evensong will begin just before the service starts at 3pm. You will then be able to watch Evensong for one week from Monday 14th June 2021.

Chilean Navy Day wreath laying

The Chilean Navy pay its annual tribute at the grave of Admiral Thomas Cochrane (1775-1860) in the Abbey's nave. Cochrane had a remarkable career as a naval officer and a politician. One of the Royal Navy's most audacious and feared commanders during the Napoleonic Wars, he went on to command the Chilean, Brazilian and Greek navies, helping these countries in their fight for independence.

A Service to Commemorate the Life of Florence Nightingale

Held on International Nurses Day, this special service commemorated nursing pioneer Florence Nightingale and celebrated the outstanding contribution of nurses and midwives during the coronavirus pandemic.
