William and Frederick McNally

In the south aisle of St Margaret's church Westminster, fixed to the back of the choir stalls, are two memorial brasses to former choristers of the church, William John McNally and Frederick McNally, both of whom died in war.

The decorated brass to William reads:

In memory of William John McNally an old St Margaret's boy and chorister. He served as a volunteer with the King's Royal Rifles in the South African War. Died 8th Feb. 1905 aged 32

The brass to Frederick reads:

In memory of Frederick Henry McNally of the London Scottish Regiment an old St Margaret's boy and member of the choir who fell severely wounded near Cambrai on November 24th 1917 aged 40

Frederick was born on 23rd April 1877 a son of Michael and Martha McNally of Westminster. In 1911 at St George's Hanover Square he married Isobel Williams. He is remembered on the Cambrai war memorial.

The relationship between the two is not certain.
