Sir Harold Gurden

The ashes of Sir Harold Edward Gurden, who died on 27th April 1989, were scattered in the churchyard of St Margaret's Church Westminster, just north of the porch on 9th April 1990. There is no gravestone.

He was born in 1903, son of Arthur and Ada and was educated at Lyttelton school and Birmingham university. He became a Member of Parliament and was in the dairy and food industry and chairman of Park Farm Preserves. His first wife was Lucy Tzon (three daughters) and his second Elizabeth Taylor. He was on the Speaker's Panel in the House of Commons and was Rector's Warden at St Margaret's from 1973-1975 and Deputy to 1983.
