Jane, Countess of Lincoln

Jane, Countess of Lincoln was buried in Westminster Abbey on 1st September 1688 but the location of her grave is unknown and she has no monument or marker. The unofficial burial register says she was buried near the Earl of Exeter (which would be in St John the Baptist's chapel) but that was crossed through and Earl of Bridgwater substituted - no Earl with this title was buried in the Abbey. She was daughter of Peter de Guliere, Lord of Verune in France and wife of Edward Clinton, 5th Earl of Lincoln. They had no children. Luttrell's Diary says Edward was buried privately in the Abbey but there is no record in the registers and The Complete Peerage states he is buried at Tattershall in Lincolnshire.
