James Horsfall

James Horsfall was a part time Lay Vicar (adult singer in the choir) at Westminster Abbey from 1788 and full member from 1796 and also Librarian from 1803-1817. He lived in a house in the Abbey cloisters and died unmarried on 5th July 1817 aged 64. He was buried in what was known as the north west grass plat, the area at the foot of the north west tower of the Abbey known today as the north green. This area had been designated as a burial place for more minor officials and almsmen of the Abbey. There were no gravestones put there. He had a brother Richard.
