Their infant children Elizabeth and Henry had been buried there and daughter Martha in 1731. Another child was Edward and a daughter Ann married Edward Kynaston in the Abbey in 1731. Dr Gee was born in Manchester, a son of George Gee, a shoemaker, and was educated there and at Cambridge. In 1701 he was installed as a Prebendary of the Abbey and was also minister at St Margaret's Westminster. Other posts he held were rector of St Benet's, Paul's Wharf in London, rector of Chevening in Kent, Dean of Peterborough and of Lincoln and he was a chaplain in ordinary to King William and Queen Mary. He published several books.
