Dorothy Stuart, Countess of Roscommon

Dorothy Stuart, Countess of Roscommon, who died on 21st July 1614, was buried in St Edmund's chapel in Westminster Abbey but she has no monument or marker. The burial is not recorded in the Abbey register but references to it are in the archives.

She was born on 15th January 1579, a daughter of George Hastings 4th Earl of Huntingdon and his wife Dorothy (Port). Her first marriage was to Sir James Stuart, Master of Blantyre (son of Walter, 1st Lord of Blantyre). He was killed in a duel with Sir George Wharton and buried on 10th November 1609 at Islington in London. Her second husband was Robert Dillon, 2nd Earl of Roscommon (who died in 1642 and was buried in Dublin). She had no children.
