E. Leslie Peter of Lee

E. Leslie Peter of the USA purchased the Lordship of Lee and was a generous benefactor to the Westminster Abbey restoration appeal. An enamelled copper plate was inserted beside the stairs going up into Henry VII's Lady Chapel for several benefactors. These were designed by Donald Buttress and painted by Ken Breese. The main inscription plate reads

The Lady Chapel was restored 1992-1995 largely thanks to the generosity of those whose names are recorded here and in windows of the chapel.

The Peter of Lee plaque has a shield of arms at the top and the inscription:

E. Leslie Peter of Lee The Baron of Lee. Eager in love and devotion to the Master.
