Thomas Finell

Thomas Finell (1651-1690) was a singingman or Lay Vicar of Westminster Abbey from 1661 until his death. He had served a year's probation before his appointment. He was buried in the south cloister on 19th March 1690 but he has no marker. He was also a violinist at Court in 1665 and was a musician in the Chapel Royal at Windsor. 

His first wife was Alice and their son Thomas was baptized at St Margaret's Westminster on 16th October 1651. She was buried in that church on 8th May 1665. Son Thomas went on to serve at St Patrick's and Christ Church cathedral in Dublin. Other children baptized in the church were Mary on 5th December 1652 (she married David Webb in the Abbey in April 1671), and Elizabeth baptized 16th July 1654. Thomas' second wife was Ann.
