Charles Hall

In the north cloister of Westminster Abbey is the grave of the Reverend Charles Hall. The inscription reads: 

Sacred to the memory of the Rev. CHA.HALL Dean of Bocking: Rector of South Church Essex who departed this life Sept 6 1774 aged 55

He was educated at Oxford, son of John Hall of Basingstoke, and became a chaplain to the Archbishop of Canterbury. From 1761 he was Dean of Bocking in Essex. In 1762 he married Elizabeth Carsan of Lambeth.
