Tour: Abbey unlocked
See Westminster Abbey in the quiet of the morning, before our doors open to the public.
This 90-minute private tour offers rare access to the Abbey’s most treasured spaces. With only 12 places available per tour, you’ll explore in the company of an expert guide and experience the Abbey at its most peaceful.
Highlights include the Shrine of Edward the Confessor, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Galleries, and historic sites such as:
- The Coronation Chair
- The Grave of the Unknown Warrior
- The Quire and High Altar
- The Lady Chapel
- Scientists' Corner
- Poets' Corner

Ticketing information
There is a maximum of 12 people per tour.
Meeting location
This tour will meet at the Cloister Entrance in Dean’s Yard. Please arrive by 8:15am as latecomers will not be admitted.
Access and security
Please have your ticket ready to show our staff (either printed or on your mobile phone).
On your arrival, your bag will be searched and we ask you not to bring any large items with you (for example suitcases, large backpacks or folding bicycles) as these will not be allowed inside and we are unable to store them for you.
The Abbey has uneven floors and parts of the tour may only be accessible up a flight of steps, so we recommend you wear sensible footwear. Some areas on this tour are not wheelchair accessible, please consider this carefully when booking.
