James and Charlotte Fisher

In the west cloister of Westminster Abbey is the grave of James Fisher and his sister Charlotte. They were children of the Reverend Francis Fisher of Burpham in Surrey and his wife Charlotte (Merest). Their mother's sister Mary Hare is also buried in this cloister. Charlotte lived in the precincts of the Abbey and died unmarried. The grave inscription reads: 

Charlotte Fisher died March 3rd 1813 aged 50 years. Also James Fisher, Esq. brother of the said Charlotte and Chief Clerk in the Auditors Office of the Receipt of His Majesty's Exchequer. He died December 15 1821 aged 63.
