Arthur Clarke

A small white marble tablet in the south choir aisle of Westminster Abbey records:

To the Glory of God this organ case in the south aisle is erected in loving memory of Arthur D. Clarke, donor of the "celestial organ" in the triforium of the Abbey, by his sister in law F.A. Beare 1898

He gave the celestial organ in 1895 in memory of his wife, as he was a friend of the Abbey organist Frederick Bridge. The organ cases, on the north and south sides of the organ loft, were designed by J.L. Pearson.
