SEND schools

We want the Abbey to be an accessible space for everyone. We welcome all students to participate in our learning programme and can tailor sessions to meet the specific needs of individuals.

Visits

All school visits are suitable for students with SEND and are free for SEND classes or schools.

Our guided tours can be tailored to suit the needs and learning objectives of your students. Guided tours are managed by Abbey staff.

Our self-led visits give students flexibility to explore the Abbey at their own pace. Self-led visits are managed by school staff.

Supporting resources

Use the following resources to help prepare students for their visit and support them during their time at the Abbey. All written resources can be provided in widget symbols if required.

Our visual stories and sensory map can help familiarise students with the places they might see and the people they might meet during their visit.

Our sensory backpacks provide tools to support student engagement during a guided tour of the Abbey.
