The monument to Henry Carey, 1st Baron Hunsdon (died 1596) is the tallest in Westminster Abbey, at thirty-six feet high. Various members of his family are buried in the Carey vault.

Matilda (Maud) wife of Henry I
The marriage of Matilda of Scotland to King Henry I in 1100 united the Saxon and Norman lines. She is buried near the Shrine of St Edward in Westminster Abbey but has no tomb or memorial.
