Lucy Baynton

Lady Lucy Baynton was buried in the north ambulatory in Westminster Abbey at the entrance to St John the Baptist's chapel on 14th June 1621. But she has no monument or readable gravestone. She was the daughter of Sir John Danvers and his wife Elizabeth (Nevill) and married Sir Henry Baynton (died 1616), Member of Parliament, of Bromham in Wiltshire.

The Baynton family were wealthy landowners and claimed descent from a courtier of the time of Henry II. Many members are buried in the Baynton chapel in Bromham church.  Her brother was Sir John Danvers and her son Sir Edward Baynton was also a Member of Parliament. Edward married Elizabeth Maynard and secondly Mary Bowell. Lucy's daughter Elizabeth married John Dutton.
