Mary I ordered Anne of Cleves’ burial in the Abbey. She lies on the south side of the High Altar, her monument showing her initials.

The memorial to Dr Richard Mead is to be found on the north side of the nave but he is actually buried in Temple Church.

Sir Godfrey Kneller is the only portrait painter to be commemorated here. His monument is by sculptor J.M. Rysbrack after a design by Kneller.

Bridget Holmes, a servant to the royal household, was buried in the north cloister on 26th October 1691. Her grave was at the western end.

Richard II and Anne of Bohemia
Richard was crowned in Westminster Abbey on 16th July 1377 aged 10. He married Anne of Bohemia in January 1382 and both are buried in the Abbey. His portrait hangs in the nave.

In St Margaret's is a memorial tablet to author and slave abolitionist Olaudah Equiano who was baptised Gustavus Vassa in that church when a slave.
