Westminster Abbey and Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Abbey remains open for worship and you are welcome to join us at our daily Eucharist service if you are able to travel here safely within current government guidelines.

However, for the time being we are unable to open the Abbey and St Margaret’s Church for general visiting.

Bryony Strickland, Deputy Head Girl at Westminster School reads from St John’s gospel for Abbeycast, the Abbey’s worship podcast series, released today for the feast of St Michael and All Angels.

Today’s episode, ‘Angels ascending and descending’, recorded this week in the magnificent 16th-century Lady Chapel, marks the feast of St Michael and All Angels.

The podcast is led by the Reverend Mark Birch, Minor Canon and Precentor with an Address by the Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle, Dean of Westminster. Bryony Strickland reads John 1: 47–end. Sir Michael Tippett’s Plebs angelica sung by the Abbey Choir and conducted by James O’Donnell, Organist and Master of the Choristers, is supplied by the Choir’s record label, Hyperion.

Abbeycast, the Abbey’s worship podcasts, are being published to mark Feast Days and special anniversaries. Those wanting to be kept up to date with new releases can subscribe.

The Abbey has 22 daily services weekly which all are welcome to attend. Advanced booking is required for some services.
