Westminster Abbey and Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Abbey will re-open for sightseeing visitors from Friday 21st May.

In the meantime, we remain open for worship and you are welcome to join us at our daily services. We are also open for individual prayer from 10:30am - 12:30pm, Monday to Saturday.

London Mayors attend Evensong

Evensong to celebrate the Feast of the Dedication of Westminster Abbey was held in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Westminster and the Mayors of the London Boroughs, together with members of the Greater London Lieutenancy, on Sunday 16th October 2016.

The London Mayors' Association was welcomed to the Abbey by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall, who also gave the Sermon.

Kenneth Olisa OBE, Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London, read Isaiah 58: 6-14 and the Lord Mayor of Westminster, Councillor Steve Summers, read St John 12: 20-26.

The service was sung by the Choir of Westminster Abbey conducted by James O'Donnell, Organist and Master of the Choristers, and the organ was played by Daniel Cook, Sub-Organist. The organ was played before the service by Benjamin Cunningham, Organ Scholar.
