Abbey opens its doors for spring events season

This spring, Westminster Abbey opens its doors for a series of special talks and tours, offering visitors the chance to explore the history and hidden stories that have shaped this iconic site for centuries.

The season runs from January to April and the highlights include:

Abbey after hours

This special series of after-hours events includes evening talks by historians Bendor Grosvenor, Clare Jackson and Amy Jeffs. There will also be an evening visit to the Abbey’s museum, The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Galleries, and a rare chance to sketch the Abbey’s beautiful architecture at an exclusive art workshop.

Be guided through history

Visitors will also be guided through history on themed tours exploring the medieval monastery, the Abbey's memorials, Poets' Corner, the Abbey gardens, Commonwealth connections, and the history of coronations. Included in the programme is a series of dementia-friendly and BSL tours.

Daytime discoveries

A series of daytime events will include lunchtime talks, family tours, and lunchtime concerts featuring the musicians of the St Margaret’s Consort and the Royal College of Music.
