Leading in ‘Places where they sing’
A four-day residential programme from 14-17 May 2026
There will be time to discuss and reflect upon the particular character of liturgical worship in cathedrals and greater churches, and to meet likeminded clergy, all within the context of the Abbey’s daily pattern of worship. We are especially keen to offer this opportunity to clergy who have had little exposure to, but would like to learn more about, cathedral-style worship – how it works, how to lead within it, and how it can serve the wider mission of the Church.
We hope that guests would come away from this experience spiritually refreshed and with a deeper understanding of this rich tradition and its missional opportunities.
Programme Highlights
- Talks and reflections on liturgy, music, and mission
- Opportunities for voice coaching and liturgical singing in the Abbey (ability to read music not required)
- Observing the Abbey choir in rehearsal and services
- Attending services (including Ascension Day Eucharist)
- Tours of the Abbey and reflections on its mission
- All costs covered by Westminster Abbey (from 2pm on Thurs 14th May until Sunday lunchtime)
