Overview

Discuss how and why people often feature in Christian art using this detailed lesson. With examples from Westminster Abbey, talk through different depictions of Jesus, saints and other people, and what they might mean. Finally, encourage pupils to design their own stained-glass window for a person they wish to celebrate, as a creative way to consolidate their own understanding. This lesson is accompanied by more detailed teacher notes, designed to expand on key points that you may wish to discuss further.
