  In the east cloister of Westminster Abbey near the entrance to the Chapter House is the grave of Margaret Grant. The inscription has been re-cut.

  Alphonso Marsh, composer and royal musician, was buried in the west cloister of Westminster Abbey on 9th April 1692 but he has no marker.

  In the west cloister is the grave of Sidney Robert Andrews, his son and his wife. He was Clerk of Works at the Abbey.

  The Reverend John Doughty and wife Catherine are buried in the north ambulatory. His widow later married Henry Croone (buried in the Abbey cloister).

  Colonel John Davis was buried in the south aisle of the nave of Westminster Abbey on 16th December 1725. His gravestone is no longer readable.

• Edward Glanvill

  Edward Glanvill was buried in the south cloister of Westminster Abbey, adjoining the stone to William Shield. The stone is a little faint.

  In the chapel of St Benedict is a stone tablet set beneath the carved head of a monk. The sculptor was Albert Siegenthaler.

  In the west cloister of Westminster Abbey is a white marble memorial tablet to James Chelsum, Lay Vicar of the Abbey from 1736-1742.

  George Whicher is buried in the east cloister with a tablet on the wall. He endowed some almshouses in Westminster.

  In the south cloister is a gravestone to three members of the Medley family. The mother lived in New Peter Street, near the Abbey.

  In the north cloister is the gravestone of John Croft and his wife Sarah. He lived in College Street, at the back of the Abbey.

  John Bancroft and wife Elizabeth are buried in the north cloister. He was a House of Lords doorkeeper and servant to the Duke of Marlborough.

  Abbot and Priest/Minister

  Walter of Winchester was Abbot of Westminster from 1175. He died on 27th September 1190 and was buried in the south cloister of Westminster Abbey.
