    It is announced today from 10 Downing Street that Her Majesty The Queen has approved the appointment of The Reverend Andrew Tremlett, Canon of Bristol Cathedral, as a Canon of Westminster in succession to The Reverend Canon Robert Wright, who will be leaving the Abbey in September.

    Peter Holder, Sub-Organist at Westminster Abbey, has been appointed Organist and Official Student (Tutorial Fellow) at Christ Church, Oxford. He will take up his new post in the autumn.

    The ashes of Leslie Gordon Roland-Adams, Head Master of Westminster Abbey Choir School, 1988 to 1997, were buried in the vault of the Islip chapel.
