  Politician, Philanthropist and Lawyer

  A bronze relief of Sir Thomas Lovell, Chancellor of the Exchequer, who died in 1524, is on display in the new Abbey Galleries . The artist was Pietro Torrigiano.

  John Welles, 1st Viscount Welles, K.G. was buried in Westminster Abbey and early tomb lists give the location as the old lady Chapel.
