  Musician and Composer

  On the west wall of St Margaret's church Westminster is an oval tablet to musician and organist James Nares who was buried nearby.

• Mary Shelvocke

  Mary Shelvocke was buried in the west cloister on 1st August 1761. Her stone has now nearly worn away and the inscription is very faint.

• Sir Clement Clerke

  Sir Clement Clerke was buried in the north cloister on 10th December 1693. His wife Sarah had been buried there on 13th November 1693.

  Thomas, Lord Paget was buried in the "north aisle" of Westminster Abbey on 19th February 1742 (most likely the north choir aisle).

  Viscount Byng of Vimy was Commander of the Canadian Corps during the 1914-18 war and became Governor General of Canada.

  When Charles Dickens died at his home in Kent on 9th June 1870, it was presumed that he would be buried in Rochester Cathedral or in one of the nearby parish churches at Cobham or Shorne. This, after all, was what the author of some of the greatest novels in the English language had wanted.

  The Reverend Edward Cary, sub-dean of Exeter, and his daughter Judith are buried in St Margaret's Westminster and she has a memorial tablet.

  In St Margaret's church are two memorials to the Atwood family. The Reverend Thomas Atwood and his wife have a tablet on the south wall.

  Prince William, Duke of Cumberland, is buried with his parents and other family in the Hanoverian vault beneath the central aisle of Henry VII's chapel.
