  Classical scholar Gilbert Murray, renowned for his translations of Greek plays, was buried in Poets' Corner in Westminster Abbey on 5th July 1957.

  Richard de Crokesley was Abbot of Westminster from 1246-1258 and a stone coffin, thought to be his, was discovered in 1913.

  Ezekiel, Baron Spanheim was buried in St Paul's chapel. He was Ambassador Extraordinary from the King of Prussia to the Queen of Great Britain.

  In the south transept is the grave of Major Henry Carr. It is worn on one side but the name can still be seen.

  In the north transept is the grave of William Forbes. The arms carved on the stone are quarterly Forbes with Preston of Formantine.

  Colonel Thomas Bushell was buried on 24th April 1674 in the Little Cloister. The Little Cloister is the area where the clergy have their residences.

  In the north cloister of Westminster Abbey is the grave of William Cliffe and his two nieces Mary and Ann Davies.

  Kenneth Mackenzie, commonly called Lord Fortrose, was buried in the south aisle of the nave on 22nd October 1761. He has no memorial or marker.

  Edward succeeded his father when he was just 9 years old and was crowned in the Abbey on 20th February 1547. He died in 1553.

  Geoffrey Chaucer is buried in the south transept, now known as Poets' Corner. He was the author of The Canterbury Tales.

• James I and Anne of Denmark

  James I and Anne of Denmark are both buried in Westminster Abbey. But neither has a monument. Their funeral effigies still remain in the Abbey collection.

  Prince Edmund "Crouchback", Earl of Lancaster and Aveline de Forz were the first royal couple to be married in the newly built Westminster Abbey. Both are also buried in the church.

  Antoine Philippe d'Orleans, Duc de Montpensier was buried in a vault in Henry VII's chapel in Westminster Abbey and has a monument there.

  Sir James Fullerton was buried in the north ambulatory, near the steps leading to Henry VII's chapel. His monument was later erected in St Paul's chapel.

  In the central aisle of St Margaret's church is a gravestone to members of the Crosse family, buried in the vault below. There are two memorials also.

  In the south cloister is a monument to politician Daniel Pulteney. His effigy reclines on a sarcophagus and he holds a book on his knee.
