  The Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall, embarked on a two week trip to the East Coast of the USA from 30th April to 14th May.

• Elizabeth, Countess of Mexborough

  A memorial to Elizabeth, Countess of Mexborough is on the wall of St John the Baptist's chapel. This shows a woman grieving beside an urn.

  Albert Edward, eldest son of Queen Victoria, was born in 1841. His coronation, with his wife Alexandra of Denmark, was held on 9th August 1902.

• Elizabeth Woodfall

  Elizabeth, daughter of printer Henry Sampson Woodfall, was buried in the west cloister of Westminster Abbey. Her tablet no longer remains.

  Sir Henry De Vic was buried in the north transept "between the font and the Convocation House". His gravestone is no longer readable.

  In the east walk of the cloisters of Westminster Abbey is a wall monument to Lt.General Henry Withers and his great friend Colonel Henry Disney.

  In the chapel of St Paul in Westminster Abbey is a monument to Sir Henry Belasyse, army officer. The monument is by sculptor Peter Scheemakers.

  There are four Elizabeth Cecils buried here - Baroness Ros, the Countess of Berkshire, the Countess of Devonshire and the wife of Sir Robert Cecil.

• Elizabeth II

  Queen Elizabeth II's coronation was held at Westminster Abbey on 2nd June 1953. Her wedding to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, took place in 1947. Her funeral was held on 19th September 2022.

• Henry James

  Writer and Novelist

  On 17th June 1976 a memorial stone for Henry James, American born novelist, was unveiled in Poets' Corner by his great grand-nephew Alexander James, jr.

• Henry VI

  Henry VI was crowned in Westminster Abbey in 1429 aged 8. He has a modern statue in the Lady Chapel.

• Edmund of Langley, Duke of York

  A gilt bronze statuette of Edmund of Langley, 1st Duke of York, can be seen on the tomb of his father King Edward III.

  In the south transept is the grave of Major Henry Carr. It is worn on one side but the name can still be seen.

• Philippa Mohun, Duchess of York

  Philanthropist

  Philippa Mohun, Duchess of York was buried in St Nicholas' chapel. Her altar tomb was originally in the centre of the chapel but was moved.

  The Hon. Henry Grove, Lieutenant General, who fought in Flanders under the Duke of Marlborough, was buried in the east cloister on 26th November 1736.

  Henry Brooker, Library keeper and Receiver General of Westminster Abbey, was buried in the east cloister but no marker remains.

  Soldier

  Henry Ireton, Parliamentary official and son in law of Oliver Cromwell, was buried in Henry VII's chapel in Westminster Abbey but later exhumed.

• Elizabeth, Countess of Desmond

  Elizabeth Butler, Countess of Desmond was buried in St Paul's chapel in Westminster Abbey in 1629 but she has no marker. Her father's first wife Elizabeth Berkeley is also buried in this chapel.

• Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother

  Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother was married and crowned in the Abbey and had her funeral here in 2002.
