James O’Donnell secures role at Yale University

James O’Donnell, Organist and Master of the Choristers at Westminster Abbey, has been appointed as Professor in the Yale School of Music and Yale Institute of Sacred Music. He will leave the Abbey this Christmas.

James Chelsum
Musician
In the west cloister of Westminster Abbey is a white marble memorial tablet to James Chelsum, Lay Vicar of the Abbey from 1736-1742.

Musician and Composer
James Turle was Organist and Master of the Choristers at Westminster Abbey from 1831-1882. He has a memorial tablet in the cloisters and a memorial window in the Abbey but is not buried here.

On the west wall of St Margaret's church Westminster is an oval tablet to musician and organist James Nares who was buried nearby.

Priest/Minister
James Lupton, clergyman of Westminster Abbey, is buried in the west cloister of the Abbey. The stone was re-cut in 1958.
