After a sabbatical period she now undertakes a variety of ministries.

Gathering Prayer

All stand for the Preparation

O God, make speed to save us.
O Lord, make haste to help us.

With you, O God, is the well of life
and in your light shall we see light.

Almighty and eternal God, you have called us into the body of Christ to witness to his grace and truth. Strengthen and nourish us in our earthly pilgrimage through the fruits of fellowship, contemplation, and prayer. Guide our thoughts and govern our hearts that we may delight in the enduring melody of relationship with you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

All sit to day Psalm 139: 1–13

O Lord, you have searched me out and known me;
you know my sitting down and my rising up; you discern my thoughts from afar.
You mark out my journeys and my resting place
and are acquainted with all my ways.
For there is not a word on my tongue,
but you, O Lord, know it altogether.
You encompass me behind and before
and lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
so high that I cannot attain it.

Where can I go then from your spirit?
Or where can I flee from your presence?
If I climb up to heaven, you are there;
if I make the grave my bed, you are there also.
If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
Even there your hand shall lead me,
your right hand hold me fast.
If I say, 'Surely the darkness will cover me
and the light around me turn to night,'
Even darkness is no darkness with you; the night is as clear as the day;
darkness and light to you are both alike.

For you yourself created my inmost parts;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I thank you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
marvellous are your works, my soul knows well.

Silence is kept

The Reading, John 15: 1–5a, 8–11

Jesus said, 'I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine-grower. He removes every branch in me that bears no fruit. Every branch that bears fruit he prunes to make it bear more fruit. You have already been cleansed by the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me as I abide in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete.'

Silence is kept

All say the Responsory, Psalm 98: 1, 5–6

Sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvellous things.

Sound praises to the Lord, all the earth;
break into singing and make music.
Make music to the Lord with the lyre,
with the lyre and the voice of melody.

All say The Lord's Prayer

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

Mid-day Prayer

All stand for the Preparation

O God, make speed to save us.
O Lord, make haste to help us.

Your love, O Lord, reaches to the heavens
and your faithfulness to the clouds.

The Article of Praise, I Timothy 3: 16; 6: 15–16

Christ Jesus was revealed in the flesh
   and vindicated in the spirit.
      He was seen by angels
and proclaimed among the nations.
   Believed in throughout the world,
      he was taken up in glory.

This will be made manifest at the proper time by the blessed and only Sovereign, who alone has immortality, and dwells in unapproachable light. To the King of kings and Lord of lords be honour and eternal dominion. Amen.

All sit to say Psalm 138

I will give thanks to you, O Lord, with my whole heart;
before the gods will I sing praise to you.
I will bow down towards your holy temple and praise your name, because of your love and faithfulness;
for you have glorified your name and your word above all things.
In the day that I called to you, you answered me;
you put new strength in my soul.

All the kings of the earth shall praise you, O Lord,
for they have heard the words of your mouth.
They shall sing of the ways of the Lord,
that great is the glory of the Lord.
Though the Lord be high, he watches over the lowly;
as for the proud, he regards them from afar.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you will preserve me;
you will stretch forth your hand against the fury of my enemies; your right hand will save me.
The Lord shall make good his purpose for me;
your loving-kindness, O Lord, endures for ever; forsake not the work of your hands.

The Reading, Ephesians 1: 8b–10

With all wisdom and insight the Father has made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set forth in Christ, as a plan for the fullness of time, to gather up all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

Silence is kept

The officiant says the Collect

Almighty and everlasting God, who dost govern all things in heaven and earth: mercifully hear the supplications of thy people, and grant us thy peace all the days of our life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Conclusion

May the light of Christ our Lord shine in all our hearts. Amen.

Let us bless the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
