Henry VII and Elizabeth of York
Henry VII’s coronation took place in October 1485. He and his wife Elizabeth were the first monarchs to be buried in the Abbey’s Lady Chapel.

Henry’s tomb is below his elaborate chantry chapel in Westminster Abbey. His funeral armour and the effigy of his wife, Catherine de Valois, can be seen in the new Abbey Galleries.
