Peter Mason

In the west cloister of Westminster Abbey is a marble tablet near the grave of Peter Mason. The tablet has lost its heraldic shield. The inscription reads:

Underneath resteth from his labour Peter Mason of St James Westminster, Gent. He was in every relation a just and good man; and what you, in your last moments, may with great comfort rejoice to be. He dy'd the first day of September 1738 aged 82. This monument was erected by his executrix Mrs Mary Faver

There are no clues to his family in his will and Mrs Faver seems only to have been his servant.
