Admission

Free admission is available for registered disabled visitors and their carers. Tickets can be booked in advance or purchased on the day of the visit.

Wheelchair access

The Abbey provides wheelchairs for visitors to use. You can request one from an Abbey Marshal upon arrival.

The main entrance is accessible, and there is a small ramp at the North Door entrance.

Assistance dogs

Guide, hearing and assistance dogs are welcome at the Abbey. Please ensure your dog is under control, well-behaved and wearing its harness within the Abbey.

Facilities

Accessible toilets are located in the Cellarium Café and the lobby of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Galleries.

The Abbey is equipped with a hearing loop system that covers the whole of the Abbey main building. This system is used at all Services.

Audio described tours are available, and a British Sign Language (BSL) version of our multimedia tour is available. We also offer printed transcripts of the tour (in 14 languages).

Guided tours

Personal Touch Tours can be arranged for visually impaired visitors, available in large print or Braille. These tours must be booked in advance.

A British Sign Language version of the multimedia tour is also offered.

Access limitations

Some areas of the Abbey, such as the Henry VII chapel, have steps that may not be accessible to wheelchair users. However, staff can assist with a stair climber if needed.
