German President welcomed to the Abbey

The President of the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Dr Frank-Walter Steinmeier, accompanied by Frau Elke Büdenbender, visited Westminster Abbey on Thursday 4th December as part of their State Visit to the United Kingdom.
They were welcomed to the Abbey by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr David Hoyle, who invited them to lay a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior to honour the fallen of the two World Wars and more recent conflicts.
Following the wreath laying, the President signed the Abbey’s Distinguished Visitors’ Book.
