Voice and Verse Readings: Remembrance

To mark the opening of the Field of Remembrance, serving members of the British Armed Forces will read poems in the Abbey across the afternoon.

Hear the work of poets from the First World War brought to life by those serving today and take a moment to think about those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.  

A different poem will be read at 30-minute intervals across the afternoon from the pulpit in the nave.  

Ticketing information

This event is included in the price of admission. 

We offer free entry to UK Armed Forces personnel and up to 4 family members, on production of valid ID. 

Entry is granted to UK Armed Forces personnel on a space-available basis, depending on capacity within the Abbey. Visitors will need to present their current ID on entry. 

Access and security

On your arrival, your bag will be searched and we ask you not to bring any large items with you (for example suitcases, large backpacks or folding bicycles) as these will not be allowed inside and we are unable to store them for you.

Filming and photography
