Special verger tours: Association members
Join two of our expert vergers on a tour that will take you behind the scenes at the Abbey and see how the clergy prepare for different services and occasions.
Every year, thousands of people take part in worship at the Abbey. Many services take place here, from major Christian festivals like Christmas and Easter to major Royal state occasions. Regular services such as Holy Communion and Sung Eucharist.
Behind the scenes tour
Verger Ben Sheward will explain and demonstrate how we prepare for our daily services and arrange the vestments - the liturgical garments and clothing worn during services.

Abbey vestments - talk in the crypt
Verger Cath Alderman will discuss and show you the vestments that are worn by the Abbey clergy, some of which date back to Charles II.
- Monday 5th February at 12.30pm and 2.30pm
- Monday 26th February at 12.30pm and 2.30pm

Please note: Members with Associate & Guest, Joint Associate or Family Associate Membership must state the number of tickets (one or two) they would like to reserve.
Tickets cost £10 per person and payment must be made on the day of the tour, by credit or debit card. Cash will not be accepted. If all the tours get fully booked, we will operate a waiting list.
