Blast off on a cosmic adventure without leaving Earth! Join us in England’s oldest walled garden to uncover the fascinating links between Westminster Abbey and the universe.

Feel transported to outer space from the heart of Westminster Abbey’s walled garden. Join us to explore the incredible connections between the Abbey and the cosmos through fun, family-friendly activities inspired by some of the greatest minds in science.

For centuries, people have gazed up at the night sky, asking big questions. Some of those who helped answer them, like Isaac Newton and Stephen Hawking, are honoured right here at the Abbey. Discover their stories, follow interactive trails, get hands-on with themed crafts, and journey through space and time with help from our friends across London’s vibrant heritage community.

Whether you’re stargazing for the first time or already dreaming of distant galaxies, this is your chance to explore the universe in a way that’s creative, curious, and close to home. Perfect for children aged 3+ (and their grown-ups). No telescope required, just your imagination!

Age suitability

This activity is suitable for children aged 3+.

All children must be accompanied by an adult throughout their time at the Abbey.
