Teresa Sciaccaluga

Maria Teresa Sciaccaluga, a daughter of Bartolomeo Valle, merchant of the parish of St Martin in the Fields in London, was buried in the east cloister of Westminster Abbey on 2nd November 1766. Her gravestone, near the steps up to the church, has now worn away but it only gave her name, date of death and age. She had been married aged 16 in 1766 at St Peter le Poor church in London to merchant Joseph Gaetan Sciaccaluga. It is not clear why she was buried in the cloisters unless perhaps they had a house nearby.
