Sophia, Countess of Darlington

Sophia Charlotte, Countess of Darlington, was buried in the vault of the Duke of Ormond at the east end of Henry VII's chapel in Westminster Abbey on 24th April 1725. In the 19th century her name was inscribed on the stone above the vault with the many others buried there. She has no monument. 

She was a natural daughter of Ernst August, Elector of Hanover (her mother being married to Frantz Ernest, Imperial Count von Platen and Hallermund, She married John, Baron von Kielsmansegge, Master of the Horse and Lord Chamberlain to the King who was buried at St James's Westminster). Her half brother George I created her Baroness of Brentford and Countess of Darlington in 1722. Her son George became Count von Kielmansegge and her other children were Sophia (who married the 2nd Viscount Howe), Caroline, Charles and Ernest.
