Sir Denis Mountain

The coat of arms of Sir Denis Mountain, 3rd Baronet, can be seen in the lower section of the large west window of the Lady Chapel in Westminster Abbey, unveiled by Queen Elizabeth II in 1995. He was on the fund raising committee of the Westminster Abbey Trust, the body responsible for raising millions of pounds for the restoration of the exterior of the Abbey and the interior of the Lady Chapel between 1973 and 1995.

Born on 2nd June 1929 he was educated at Eton college and served in the Royal Horse Guards and succeeded his father as chairman of the insurance group Eagle Star. He was director of several other major businesses and married Fleur Kirwan-Taylor. He died on 24th October 2005.
