Sarah Hucks

Sarah Hucks was buried in the north cloister of Westminster Abbey on 11th November 1776 aged 85. She seems never to have had any inscribed gravestone.

She was a daughter of William Luckyn, 3rd Baronet of Messing Hall in Essex and his wife Mary (Sherington). She was baptised at Messing and married there to Joseph Hucks, J.P. for the county of Middlesex and an eminent brewer. Their only child Sarah married firstly Reverend Anthony Cope, Dean of Armagh, and secondly Charles Jackson, bishop of Kildare. Her brother William was created Baron Dunboyne and Viscount Grimston in the peerage of Ireland in 1719.
