Gilbert Robertson

On the south wall of St Margaret's church Westminster is a tablet in memory of soldier Gilbert Robertson who died in India. It has a mosaic border with a depiction of St George and the dragon at the top with the name of the regiment and motto Quo Fata Vocant. The inscription reads:

+ To the Glory of God and in memory of Gilbert Thomas Robertson 5th Northumberland Fusiliers. Born 5th November 1862 Died at Rawul Pindi Punjab India 9th April 1890 aged 27. This tablet is erected by his brother officers in token of their affection.

It is assumed he had some connection with this church but nothing further is known about him.
