Mark is an award-winning broadcaster and author, a familiar face and voice on British television and radio for more than 40 years. As the BBC’s Home Editor from 2004-2025, Mark provided news coverage, analysis and broad perspective on the major events affecting Britain. His previous roles include the Home and Social Affairs Editor at Channel 4 News and Political Editor at Channel 5 News. Mark has won several awards, including the Mind Mental Health Award for TV and radio news, the Bar Council Legal Journalist of the Year and Royal Statistical Society awards for statistical excellence. His BBC blog, ‘Mark Easton’s UK’, was a finalist at the prestigious Online Journalism Awards in San Francisco and was listed for the Orwell Prize.

Mark has a reputation for bringing clarity and perspective to contemporary events. He has worked extensively as a speaker and facilitator of major events, including presenting his ‘Britain: The View from the Inside’ to senior military personnel from around the world at the Royal College of Defence Studies for the past 14 years. Mark is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, a Governor of the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, and a member of the Westminster Abbey Institute’s Council of Reference.
