  Westminster Abbey Organ Scholar Carolyn Craig performs Florence Price’s dramatic First Sonata for Organ, inspired by Alexandre Guilmant, and music of 20th-century French woman composers.

• Christian Ker

  In the north ambulatory of Westminster Abbey is the grave of Christian Ker. Originally there was a white marble cartouche on the wall nearby.

• Elizabeth, Lady Latimer

  Elizabeth, wife of Edward Osborne, Viscount Latimer, was buried on 5th May 1680 together with her daughter Lady Grace. But the location is unknown.

• Nicholas Assheton

  The ashes of the Hon. Nicholas Assheton were buried in the Islip chapel on 15th March 2013. He was Chief Honorary Steward from 2002-2006.

• Michael William Balfe

  Musician and Composer

  In the north choir aisle is a memorial to composer Michael William Balfe. This consists of an oval medallion with a profile bust.

  A service to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the birth of St Maximilian Kolbe was held at Westminster Abbey on Sunday 13th January 2019.

  George I was crowned at Westminster Abbey on 20th October 1714. He could not speak much English and the ceremonies were mostly conducted in Latin.

• Lady Essex Robartes

  Lady Essex Robartes was buried in the chapel of St John the Evangelist on 14th January 1727 but she has no monument or gravestone.

• Gilbert Murray

  Writer

  Classical scholar Gilbert Murray, renowned for his translations of Greek plays, was buried in Poets' Corner in Westminster Abbey on 5th July 1957.

• John and Penelope Herbert

  John Herbert, died 1659, was buried in St Nicholas' chapel and his wife Penelope (Bayning) died 1657 is buried in St John the Baptist's chapel . They have no monuments.

• Spring Family

  In the west cloister of Westminster Abbey is a gravestone for various members of the Spring family. The inscription is faint in places.

• Henry Newport, Earl of Bradford

  Politician

  Henry Newport, Earl of Bradford, Baron Newport of High Ercall, Lord Lieutenant and Custos of Shropshire was buried in the Duke of Ormond's vault.

  Priest/Minister

  Cyril Theodore Henry Dams was Minor Canon and Precentor at Westminster Abbey from 1951-1963 and Deputy Minor Canon from 1968-1973.

• Frederick W. Maitland

  Historian

  A memorial stone for historian F.W. Maitland was unveiled in the south transept on 4th January 2001. The stone was cut by Richard Kindersley.

  A statue to modern martyr Lucian Tapiedi was unveiled in July 1998 and stands above the west entrance to Westminster Abbey. Sculptor Tim Crawley.

• St Margaret’s holds Parliament service to mark Centenary

  A service for Parliament to mark the centenary of the end of World War I was held at St Margaret's Church on 6th November 2018.
