    Rear Admiral Sir George Hope was buried in the centre part of the nave and his marble monument is in the nearby north-west tower chapel.

    Erected by several captains of the Royal Navy who served under him as midshipmen George was born on 6th July 1767, a son of Hon.

    Colonel Thomas Garth was buried in the south aisle of the nave on 11th January 1731, aged 66. He has no monument or grave inscription.

    Their six year old son Thomas was first buried at Godstone but removed to be buried with his mother on 28th July 1746 in the east cloister.

    Joseph Dalby, apothecary, was buried at the east of the south cloister on 27th July 1784. He seems never to have had an inscribed gravestone.

    William James, writer, was buried on 2nd July 1663 in the south aisle of the nave of Westminster Abbey but he has no marker.

    James, Lord Cranstoun was buried in the south transept of Westminster Abbey on 14th July 1773. He seems never to have had an inscribed gravestone.

    The Reverend John Herbert was buried in the north porch of Westminster Abbey on 30th October 1729. His wife Mary was buried with him.

    He was said to be a near relation of the Earl of Pembroke and was baptised at St Margaret's Westminster July 28th 1685, a son of Edward and Susanna.

  • Richard de Clare, 6th Earl of Gloucester

    In the north choir aisle of Westminster Abbey is a carved shield with the coat of arms of Richard de Clare, 6th Earl of Gloucester.

    He died near Canterbury on 15th July 1262 and is buried at Tewkesbury Abbey.

  • L.J. & Mary Skaggs

    Philanthropist

    Levi Justin Skaggs and his wife Mary Cornelia (Dee) were generous benefactors to the Westminster Abbey restoration appeal. In Henry VII's chapel are two windows.

    A memorial service was held for her in the Abbey on 8th July 2010.

  • William Hare, 1st Earl of Listowel

    William Hare, 1st Earl of Listowel and his first wife are buried in the nave. They are near the grave of Archbishop Trench.

    He was buried aged 87 on 24th July 1837.

    Lt. Colonel Edward O'Rourke is buried in St Margaret's. He has no inscribed gravestone and unfortunately his wall tablet is now hidden behind the organ.

    Moses Snow, singer and composer, was buried in the north cloister on 24th December 1702. He seems to have had no inscribed gravestone.

    His baptism, as a son of William and Ellinor Snow, took place at St Margaret's Westminster on 7th July 1661.

    Sir William Throckmorton was killed in a duel and buried in St Margaret's Westminster.
