    The ashes of Laurence Olivier, Baron Olivier of Brighton, the greatest actor of his generation, are buried in the south transept of Westminster Abbey.

    Musician and Composer

    On 26th November 1695 Purcell was buried in the north aisle of the choir. This was where the organ stood at this time.

    Priest/Minister and Soldier

    The Grave of the Unknown Warrior was inspired by the Reverend David Railton M.C. chaplain to the 2nd Battalion of the Hon. Artillery Company.

  • John Ernest Grabe

    John Ernest Grabe, biblical scholar, has a monument in the south transept. On the west wall, it shows his figure dressed in gown and bands.
