• Mary I

  Mary Tudor was the daughter of Henry VIII and Katherine of Aragon. She was crowned in the Abbey on 1st October 1553 and lies buried with Elizabeth I.

• William of Windsor & Blanche

  Two children of Edward III, William of Windsor and Blanche of the Tower, have a small altar tomb in the chapel of St Edmund.

• Lucy Baynton

  Lady Lucy Baynton was buried in the north ambulatory in Westminster Abbey at the entrance to St John the Baptist's chapel on 14th June 1621.

• Sir William Trussell

  Statesman

  Sir William Trussell was buried in St Michael's chapel in Westminster Abbey. A legacy was received from him by the Abbey sacrist in 1346-1347.

  Mary of Brittany, fourth daughter of Edward III and his queen Philippa of Hainault, has a small bronze statuette on the tomb of her father.

  Soldier

  Edmund of Woodstock, 1st Earl of Kent, was a son of Edward I. He was executed for treason in March 1330 outside Winchester castle and was later brought to the Abbey for burial.

• Channel 4 to screen Time Team dig Sunday 18th April

  Channel 4 kicks off the new series of Time Team on Sunday 18th April at 5.30pm with Westminster Abbey as the first show. Time Team visited the Abbey in September 2009 and dug up a section of North Green looking for evidence of Henry III’s sacristy.

  His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge, Commodore-in-Chief, the Royal Navy Submarine Service, attended a service to recognise fifty years of Continuous At Sea Deterrent.

  His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales KG and Miss Catherine Middleton were married at Westminster Abbey on Friday 29th April 2011.
