Westminster Abbey Choir to sing at St Peter's in Rome
Monday, 25th June 2012
Westminster Abbey’s world-famous choir arrives in Italy this week (Tuesday 26th June) for a tour of Rome and Montecassino which will include singing for Pope Benedict XVI, with the Cappella Musicale Pontificia ‘Sistina’, the Sistine Chapel Choir, at the Papal Mass marking the Solemnity of St Peter and St Paul (Friday 29th June) in St Peter’s Basilica.

Join us for our annual Sixth Form Question Time on Tuesday 10th February 2026, an opportunity for students to debate with distinguished speakers and have their voices heard in the heart of Parliament Square. Students will be able to pose questions to a panel of politicians, activists and faith leaders, bringing their concerns and interests to the forefront of discussion.

Abbey finds rare 17th century manuscript in tin trunk

The manuscript, thought to date from 1603-1604, is a copy of Donne’s The Courtier’s Library, a satirical attack on corruptions in the church and establishment: rather like a 17th century version of Private Eye.

James O’Donnell secures role at Yale University
Tuesday, 26th April 2022
James O’Donnell, Organist and Master of the Choristers at Westminster Abbey, has been appointed as Professor in the Yale School of Music and Yale Institute of Sacred Music. He will leave the Abbey this Christmas.

Henry V and Catherine de Valois
Henry’s tomb is below his elaborate chantry chapel in Westminster Abbey. His funeral armour and the effigy of his wife, Catherine de Valois, can be seen in the Abbey Galleries.
