Free entry to the Abbey for NHS staff as summer visiting hours are announced

NHS staff will be able to visit Westminster Abbey for free from July onwards. The gesture to NHS staff is an acknowledgment of all their hard work during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Social distancing, mask-wearing and the highest standard of COVID hygiene will still be in place when visiting or worshipping.

His Grace The Archbishop of Canterbury and His Eminence Kurt Cardinal Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, attended Evensong in Westminster Abbey on Monday 11th June, the Feast of St Barnabas the Apostle, as part of Cardinal Koch's first formal visit to the Church of England.

Abbey presents Pope with Missal volume

Westminster Abbey presented Pope Benedict XVI with a magnificent bound volume of illustrations from its 14th century illuminated manuscript, the Litlyngton Missal, after the ecumenical service of evening prayer on Friday 17th September 2010.
The Abbey has commissioned a set of velvet-bound editions of A World of Worship which will be presented to visiting Heads of State.

The Duke of Edinburgh formally opened the Cellarium café and terrace at Westminster Abbey on Wednesday 17th October 2012 and was welcomed to the Abbey by the Dean of Westminster, the Very Reverend Dr John Hall, and members of Chapter.
The new café and terrace restaurant have been developed to offer a beautiful and historic place of rest and refreshment to the Abbey’s many visitors.
